Sophia Guan

Hello! I'm Sophia, an undergrad studying AI & Math @ MIT. I'm broadly interested in applying machine learning and computational methods to better understand social and economic phenomena.

I'm currently an undergraduate researcher at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where I use multimodal models to study the way ideas disseminate across short-form content platforms. I'm also a venture fellow at Pear VC, where I focus on sourcing and early-stage diligence. This summer, I'll be joining Arrowstreet Capital as a Quantitative Developer Intern on the Research Team.

Outside of school and work, I spend a lot of my time exploring local restaurants, listening to house music, and reading literary fiction. Born and raised in San Diego, I also love going on hikes by the beach and golfing with friends!
